Moi Sends Ruto A CHILLING Message
KANU leader Gideon Moi on Sunday launched a scathing attack against Deputy President William Ruto barely three days after announcing support for President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking in Elgeyo Marakwet, Moi made it clear to Ruto that he (DP) was not in charge of the Kalenjin vote.
"Let's not talk about 2022 and let me whisper something to you (Ruto) you do not own the Kalenjin vote."
"Our support for Uhuru does not automatically mean we will support you in 2022," Moi said in a Kalenjin dialect.
Moi's cold message comes at a time when DP Ruto's allies have cast doubt in KANU's declaration of supporting Uhuru.
Addressing congregants at AIC church in Kericho county, area Senator Aaron Cheruiyot accused KANU of trying to destabilise the Jubilee leadership.
"We invite everyone to Jubilee but when you go into someone’s house you do not try to take charge and reorganize things. Kanu has claimed that it supports President Kenyatta but not the DP and that is very fishy," Cheruiyot said in the meeting that was also attended by DP Ruto himself.
