ANGRY Hassan Joho fires back at Uhuru over bank account

More trouble seems to be haunting Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.

This is after Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) asked for the governor's bank transactions.

The tax-men have written a letter to Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) asking the bank to handover Joho's statement from 2011.

The letter from KRA is dated 14th March 2017 and is signed by Justus Kiuvu representing the Commissioner Investigations.

On Sunday, March 19, in Lamu, an angry Joho described the action by KRA as blackmail organised by the Jubilee government.

The governor told Uhuru he has 3 bank accounts and he can take all the money if he wants.

"Now KRA have written to DTB asking for my statement and I want to tell President Uhuru Kenyatta that I have three accounts; DTB, Barclays and Stanbic. If they want all the money they can take it but I can never relent," he said.

On Monday, March 13, Uhuru openly demeaned Joho by sensationally declaring that he wasn't the governor’s wife, and promised to deal with him accordingly.

This was after, Joho was barred by heavily armed police officers from attending the president's function.

In retaliation, Joho sent a demand note to the National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich demanding a clarification of how much money had been given to Mombasa County from the national Treasury.
