Mike Sonko reveals why he got an E grade in Mathematics

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko has finally spoken on the issue of him getting an E grade in Mathematics.

The embattled senator on Thursday night, March 16, had shared his KCSE certificate and other important documents on his social media accounts.

This was after the Jubilee party demanded he bring his original KCSE certificate and a certificate of good conduct from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Sonko, scored a mean grade C- but had an E grade in Mathematics, the maths result led to Kenyans mocking the senator claiming with the E in the crucial subject he cannot be trusted to manage the county as governor.

Sonko defended the E grade he got on Twitter, the senator said the year 1992 when he sat for the examination there was mass failure and he was one of the candidates affected by it.

The senator said C+ was the cut-off mark for university in 1992 and he did better with his C- to qualify for a diploma.

''Watu wangu getting an E in maths in 1992 haikuwa mbaya kulikuwa na mass failures mean grade ya kuingia campo was C+ and my mean grade was C-,'' he tweeted.

Before releasing his original KCSE certificate, Sonko had alleged a plot by Jubilee party to deny him a ticket in the upcoming August polls.

The senator said he suspected a section of powerful individuals in the government wanted to lock him out of the Jubilee party nomination process in favour of rival Peter Kenneth.
