However, this may only come true if Kenya’s Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission’s move to lock out the County heads materializes.

The commission recently made public names of Governors it wants locked out of the forthcoming General Election slated for August 8.

According to EACC, there was increased cases of graft in the counties headed by the said governors who have been on spending sprees, squandering public resources.

EACC is bent on six governors who it wants barred from contesting in the upcoming general elections in August.

The governors include Mwangi wa Iria (Murang’a), Evans Kidero (Nairobi), Alfred Mutua (Machakos), Godana Doyo (Isiolo), Adam Nathif (Garissa) and Sospeter Ojaamong(Busia).

The six have been making several trips in an out of Integrity House where they have been interrogated by anti graft detectives following corruption allegations leveled against them.

EACC stated that they have solid proof pointing to flawed procurement processes in Nairobi, Murang’a, Nyamira, Migori, Siaya, Busia and Kilifi counties.

Some of the affected governors, including Kidero and Mwangi have come out to accuse the commission of witch hunt, claiming their plans to have them barred from vying in the August elections will not succeed.
