Ever since Uber was introduced to the Kenyan market, moving from place to place for many people has been a walk in the park.
With the introduction of Uber then came other online taxi companies like Mondo and Taxify which led to stiffer competition even with the normal cab drivers.
A few Uber drivers have been attacked and their cars set ablaze by the normal taxi company guys all because most of their clients decided to settle for the cheaper option.
Yesterday Uber drivers went on strike demanding for better rates from the company.
The drivers claim that business hasn’t been good on their side ever since Uber dropped it’s rates leading to low profit sales.
Some claim to have taken loans to buy cars for the Uber taxi business but haven’t been making any profits lately.
The few Uber drivers who continued with their daily trips were forcefully evicted from their cars and passengers harassed.
